Why We Chose Tentipi For Our Tipi Hire Fleet

Three giant tipis with wedding accessories

When we first dreamed up the idea of starting a tipi hire company, it’s fair to say we didn’t have a huge amount of knowledge on the subject. So, we did our research. We wanted to be sure we were offering event structures that not only looked impressive but also functioned flawlessly, ensuring they would be absolutely dependable in all conditions. This way, our clients could focus on the serious business of having a good time!

After thoroughly assessing all of the options, we made the obvious choice: Tentipi — the original and still leading manufacturer of Nordic tipis. Their structures have been the backbone of our business ever since.

The Original Nordic Kata Tipi Manufacturer

Founded in 1989, Tentipi originated in the harsh northern climes of Swedish Lapland. Their designs are based on the traditional Lavvu structures of the indigenous Sami people, using a design that has withstood the Arctic climate for centuries.

Tentipi’s tents are still produced in Sweden, crafted from the highest-quality materials and blending ancient philosophy with cutting-edge manufacturing. While other companies have emerged offering similar products, for us, the originators are still the best.

The Highest Quality Materials

Tentipi’s materials are of the highest possible quality, as they need to endure whatever the elements throw at them. We’ve seen firsthand how these tents stand up to extreme conditions at festivals, weddings, and parties all over the UK. From gale-force winds to torrential rain, snowdrifts to baking heat, these structures truly handle it all.

Their cotton/polyester fabric is both strong and breathable, creating an indoor climate far superior to that of a standard tent, while also resisting any amount of precipitation the British climate can inflict. Their poles are made from slow-growing Swedish spruce trees, which are uniquely sturdy due to their age. These trees are sustainably harvested in partnership with the Swedish Forest Agency, ensuring that the materials used are as environmentally friendly as they are durable.

Adaptability and Range of Accessories

One of the standout features of Tentipi tents is their adaptability. They were the first to design the modular system that allows multiple Nordic tipis to be linked together - creating one expansive event space that can comfortably accommodate any number of guests and accessories.

Whether it's fire pits, furniture, dance floors, staging, or sound and lighting equipment, Tentipi tents can handle it all. They can also be adapted to suit various weather conditions: sides can be raised in good weather, or lowered to block out the wind, and roof caps can be opened to safely allow a fire to be lit inside on cold evenings without causing any smoke-related issues.

We’ve always believed that the quality of the structures we provide is paramount, and Tentipi’s Nordic tipis fit that bill perfectly. Their strength, versatility, and overall dependability have made them an integral part of our tipi hire fleet — and the foundation of our reputation.
